Emirates Airlines to Acquire 57 New Aircraft

DUBAI: The Emirates Airlines has placed orders for 57 new aircraft, including 25 Boeings and 22 Airbuses, costing nearly $ 15 billion. The deal was struck at the international air show held here recently. The acquisition is expected to make it the airlines the leading airline in the region.

DTCM, CII sign MoU

MUMBAI: The Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing of the Government of Dubai and the Confederation of Indian Industry have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen commercial ties between the two countries.

According to the agreement, both the organisations will assist companies in both countries in the fields of manufacture, trade and investment in key industries such as information technology, food processing and consumer goods.

Dubai-Kochi Passenger Ship Service

DUBAI: A passenger ship service has been launched between Dubai and Kochi in Kerala, from where most of the Indian expatriates in the Gulf come. The sailing time is five days now, which is expected to be cut down in due course. A one-way ticket costs Rs 7200, far below the air fare. The ship carries around 1000 passengers.
