Aide Shot Dead in Dubai DUBAI: One more link was added to the ongoing gang war between underworld dons Chhota Rajan and Dawood Ibrahim on Sunday night when Sharad Shetty, a close associate of the latter, was killed by two unidentified men here, it was reported on Monday. Though the murderers have not yet been identified, police suspect Chhota Rajan's hand behind the killing. They say Shetty had played a key role in the murderous attack on Chhoota Rajan in Bangkok in 2000, and Sunday's murder was a revenge of that attack.
Shetty was a Dubai-based businessman. Widely called Anna Shetty, he
reportedly managed Dawood gang's financial operations and had a business
empire including a hotel in Dubai. The two assailants shot him dead
at the India Club around 9 pm. The assailants escaped by jumping the
wall of the club, eyewitnesses said. The India Club is frequented
by elite Indian businessmen and diplomats in Dubai. It is located
next to the Indian High School. |
